On-Site Services
At Urology Associates, we understand your time is valuable, and we want to spare you the hassle of going to multiple places to get the services you need. At our main Oklahoma City office, we offer numerous services for your convenience, including:
Lab
Our full-service on-site lab performs the majority of tests ordered by our physicians. This allows rapid lab results for our physicians, as well as convenience and less hassle for our patients. Tests that are not performed in our facility, such as biopsies are sent to the appropriate lab.
Radiology/Diagnostic Testing
Our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center includes:
X-ray: Our advanced digital radiography system aids in the evaluation and management of kidney stones as well as other conditions.
Ultrasound: Commonly used for evaluation of disorders of the kidney, bladder and prostate. Transrectal ultrasound is used to obtain prostate biopsies for the management of prostate cancer.
Cystoscopy
Office cystoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure, which involves inserting a scope (cystocope) through the urethra into the bladder. It is used to evaluate the health of the urethra and bladder, diagnose and treat conditions such as bladder tumors or blood in the urine.
Vasectomy
Most patients choose to have this simple, safe, and effective procedure done in the office for both convenience and economic reasons. Patients are given a mild sedative. The procedure is brief and recovery time is minimal.
Prostate Biopsy
Guided by transrectal ultrasound, prostate biopsies are most often performed in our office. This minimally invasive procedure is used to detect prostate cancer.
Continence Center
Urology Associates has an on-site continence center, which provides urodynamic studies, as well as biofeedback and percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS).
Urodynamics is used to test bladder function and is a useful tool in determining the best treatment plans for patients. Biofeedback can treat a variety of bladder dysfunctions, and PTNS is used to treat overactive bladder and the associated symptoms of urinary frequency, urinary urgency, and urge incontinence.
